Angolan Ambassador Urges Stronger Indian Investment Ties with Angola

New delhi: Ambassador Clemente Camenha on Thursday, in New Delhi, India, called on the Indian business community, investors and entrepreneurs to view Angola as a dynamic and attractive investment destination, as well as a strategic gateway to other countries in the region. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola to the Republic of India was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Angola-India Business Council, an organisation established to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere.

According to Angola Press News Agency, a press release from the Angolan Embassy, sent to ANGOP on Saturday, the event also announced the dispatch of a delegation of Indian businesspeople to Angola in November as part of efforts to expand the existing economic partnership. The ambassador stated that Angola can serve as a strategic gateway for India into Africa, particularly Southern Africa, the region to which it belongs.

The establishment of the business council marks a significant milestone in the historic and fraternal cooperative relations between the two countries, which date back to 1979. According to the diplomat, the initiative comes at an opportune moment to maximise Angola's diverse investment opportunities while consolidating strategic partnerships that will contribute to deeper economic and business cooperation between the two nations.

The inauguration ceremony of the Angola-India Business Council brought together business leaders, investors and innovators from both countries.
