Angolan Armed Forces General and Admiral Officers Honored with Awards

Luanda: The ceremony of the award of general and admiral officers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) was held in Luanda, under the guidance of the commander-in-chief and President of the Republic, Joo Lourenço. The event took place as a formal recognition of the contributions made by military personnel, who have been instrumental in the nation's development and the enhancement of the FAA. According to Angola Press News Agency, the solemn session began with posthumous honors to the former Presidents of the Republic, António Agostinho Neto and José Eduardo dos Santos. Medals were delivered to their widows, Maria Eugénia Neto and Ana Paula dos Santos, respectively, acknowledging their historical role in building the nation and strengthening the FAA. The awards aim to provide special recognition to the military who stood out for their contribution, also promoting the attraction and encouragement of military careers. In addition, the ceremony highlighted the importance of maintaining the dignity of the armed forc es staff at all levels through various units, establishments, and military organs. During the ceremony, several honorary distinctions were awarded, such as the 'Military Palm Medal Single Class' and the '1st Class Medal of Valor of the Armed Forces'. These awards serve to honor those who have made significant contributions to the military and the nation.
