Camacupa: The Camacupa District Court in Bie Province sentenced an Angolan citizen, Henrique Cussumbua, to 14 years in prison for raping a four-year-old child.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the prosecution revealed that the rape occurred in July 2025 in the village of Chissapa in the Catabola municipality. The 27-year-old defendant, who was a neighbor of the victim, exploited the parents' absence to remove the child from her bed, cover her mouth, and take her to a thicket.
The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that Cussumbua struck the child on the head with a blunt object.
Members of the Municipal Administration attended the trial, including the administrator of Camacupa, Deolinda Belvina Gon§alves. In an interview with the local press, Gon§alves condemned the sexual abuse of minors and urged families to protect children, maintain community vigilance, and report similar cases.
