Angolan Clubs Vie for Spots in African Champions’ League Group Stage

Luanda:Angola Four of Angola's premier football clubs are gearing up for a decisive weekend as they compete for places in the group stages of the African club tournaments.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Petro de Luanda and Wiliete de Benguela will play the first leg of their final qualifying round for the CAF Champions League on Sunday. At the same time, 1.º de Agosto and Kabuscorp do Palanca are readying themselves for important matches in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Petro de Luanda will travel to Zimbabwe to face Scottland FC at the National Stadium. Despite Petro's extensive experience in continental competitions, the team must handle the challenging conditions of an away match.

Meanwhile, Wiliete de Benguela will host the reigning African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa. Wiliete, currently leading the domestic Angolan championship, enters the match with key players like Mabululu, Gilberto, and Karanga.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, 1.º de Agosto will make their way to the Democratic Republic of Congo to play against DC Virunga at the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa. Kabuscorp do Palanca will host AS Maniema Union at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda. Maniema Union reached the tournament quarterfinals in the previous edition.

The return legs for these encounters are scheduled between October 23 and 25, which will determine which Angolan teams advance to the group stages.
