In December 2023, Damarte fought his first fight on Angolan soil, in Luanda, in a sold-out event, where he defeated South African Roevan de Beer, solidifying his popularity among MMA fans in Angola.
In September 2024, he secured a significant victory against Brazilian Marcel Adur at the Warriors 53 International Tournament, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. That victory secured him the gold medal and promotion to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world’s premier MMA league.
