Luanda: The Angolan Ambassador to Togo, Rui Orlando Xavier, presented his credentials to President Jean-Lucien Savi de Tov© on Thursday in a formal ceremony in Lom©.
According to Angola Press News Agency, following the presentation, Ambassador Xavier, who is permanently resident in Accra, Ghana, engaged in discussions with the Togolese Head of State. The meeting focused on reviewing the current status of the friendly relations and cooperation existing between Angola and Togo. Both countries emphasized their commitment to enhancing their bilateral partnership across various sectors including political-diplomatic, economic, commercial, cultural, and multilateral fields.
The embassy note highlighted that Angola and Togo maintain ongoing political dialogue and coordinate their positions in regional and international forums. They share a collective vision aimed at promoting peace, stability, African integration, and sustainable development. With the submission of his credentials, Rui Orlando Xavier officially assumes his responsibilities as the Ambassador of Angola to the Republic of Togo.
Relations between Angola and Togo are characterized by friendship, mutual respect, and diplomatic collaboration, albeit with limited economic exchange. Both nations have expressed a desire to bolster cooperation in the areas of diplomacy, economy, commerce, culture, education, and institutional capacity building.
