Angolan Head of State Advocates Strategic Partnership with Portugal

Lisbon: Angolan President Joo Louren§o on Friday in Lisbon advocated the construction of a solid and lasting partnership between Angola and Portugal to promote progress, development, and an unbreakable friendship between the two countries. The Head of State expressed this fact in the Guest Book of the So Bento Palace, the office of the Portuguese Prime Minister, Lu­s Montenegro, with whom he met as part of the official visit to Portugal, meant the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo Louren§o emphasized the importance of addressing essential aspects of the relationship between Angola and Portugal to instill growing dynamism and elevate bilateral cooperation to higher levels. He wrote about his desire to see this cooperation sustained by principles of creativity and mutual benefit. The President has been actively engaging in discussions with Portuguese officials, including a meeting with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to discuss matters of common interest.

The relationship between Angola and Portugal is characterized by strong ties in sectors such as diplomacy, education, culture, economy, justice, and security. President Joo Louren§o's visit, scheduled to conclude on Saturday, includes meetings with representatives of the Portuguese business sector, underscoring the ongoing commitment to strengthening economic and strategic collaborations between the two nations.
