Luanda: The Angolan Head of State, Joo Louren§o, on Tuesday departed for New York, United States of America, with the objective of participating in the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Angolan President, accompanied by First Lady Ana Dias Louren§o, was seen off by Vice President Esperan§a da Costa and other state officials.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo Louren§o will have a significant role at the UN General Assembly, representing both Angola and the African continent as the leader of the African Union. His schedule is filled with responsibilities as he acts in his dual capacity as President of Angola and President pro tempore of the AU.
The Angolan President's agenda includes delivering a speech at the General Assembly plenary during the open debate. His participation is also marked by numerous bilateral meetings with international counterparts, high-level diplomats, including foreign ministers, and key figures from the business sector.
