Luanda: The Angolan national teams, in both the senior and under-19 categories, have taken the lead in the African roller hockey tournament underway in Luanda, after securing victories in the initial two rounds. The tournament serves as a qualifier for the World Championship slated for 2026. According to Angola Press News Agency, Angola's teams achieved four points each in both categories after their resounding victories over South Africa. On Tuesday, Mozambique's teams in both categories were absent from play due to scheduling. In the under-19 category, Angola delivered an impressive 19-0 victory against South Africa. Similarly, the senior team dominated with a 23-1 win over the same opponent. The current rankings reflect Angola at the top with four points, while Mozambique, South Africa, and Egypt have yet to secure any points. The tournament, organized by World Skate Africa, continues to unfold, with the Angolan teams showcasing their prowess and aiming for a spot in the upcoming World Championship.
