Angolan Volleyball Federation Chairman Highlights Quality at African Youth Games

Luanda: The chairman of the Angolan Volleyball Federation (FAVB), Mário Joaquim, emphasized the technical and physical quality of the athletes participating in the recently concluded beach volleyball tournament held on Luanda Island, as part of the African Youth Games. According to Angola Press News Agency, Mário Joaquim spoke to the press in Luanda, where he praised the qualities and capabilities demonstrated by the finalist teams of this year's beach volleyball tournament. The teams that reached the finals included Angola, the host country, along with Sierra Leone, Gambia, Nigeria, and Egypt. Joaquim expressed his surprise at the performance and the results of the training efforts made by the coaches of these teams. He further discussed the national team's prospects, indicating that the focus would remain on preparation for upcoming activities. The African Youth Games, which concluded on the 20th of the month, began with various sporting competitions since the 10th. The 4th edition of the African Youth G ames caters to athletes up to 17 years old and includes 21 sports under the theme "Youth in motion, Africa united." The event is simultaneously held in the provinces of Luanda and Bengo, attracting 2,025 athletes and more than 600 technical officials, comprising coaches, heads of delegation, masseurs, and timekeepers.
