Angola’s Crude Oil Exports Generate USD 8.33 Billion in Third Quarter

Luanda:Angola's crude oil exports reached 88.74 million barrels in the third quarter, generating 8.33 billion US dollars in revenue, according to data released Thursday by Secretary of State for Oil and Gas José Alexandre Barroso.

According to Angola Press News Agency, while export volumes remained relatively steady—posting a marginal 0.22% increase from the second quarter and a 2.87% decline year-on-year—revenue fluctuated. Earnings dropped 6.71% compared to the previous quarter but marked a significant 31.82% increase year-on-year, buoyed by a weighted average Brent price of USD 93.825 per barrel.

China remained the dominant destination for Angolan crude, absorbing 39.86% of total exports, followed by India at 18.45%, Italy at 5.63%, and Spain at 5.03%.

In the natural gas sector, Angola exported approximately 788,960 metric tons, with 94.44% of which being liquefied natural gas (LNG), pulling in roughly USD 867.13 million. The gas segment saw sharp volume contractions, falling 48.11% quarter-on-quarter and 51.49% relative to the same period in 2025, driven by shifting international economic conditions, maritime security factors, and broader producer decisions.

India led LNG destinations, accounting for 83.14% of exports, followed by South Korea at 8.64% and Indonesia at 8.21%. Barroso emphasized that navigating these global market shifts will require heightened strategic foresight, refined monitoring frameworks, and closer collaboration between government institutions and industry operators.
