Luanda: Angola's women's cadet handball team traveled to Romania on Monday to compete in the World Championship, aiming to surpass their 26th-place finish from the previous tournament. According to Angola Press News Agency, the event runs from July 29 to August 9 at the Traian Sport arena. Angola has been drawn in Group G and will open its campaign against Japan on Wednesday, before facing Slovakia on Thursday and closing the group stage against Brazil on Saturday. Head coach Cátia dos Santos wrapped up team preparations on Saturday with a 22-20 victory over local side Petro de Luanda. This marks Angola's eighth appearance at the World Championship. The team's best performance was an eighth-place finish in 2008 in Slovakia. At the 2024 tournament in China, Angola placed 26th out of 32 teams.
