Luanda: Universities and training centers across four Angolan provinces are set to benefit from connectivity infrastructure provided by the Conecta Angola Comercial project, facilitated through the ANGOSAT-2 satellite. This development will enable these institutions to broadcast the 2026 World Cup matches via DStv.
According to Angola Press News Agency, According to a press release from Conecta Angola sent to ANGOP, the initiative is designed to provide students, faculty, and local communities with access to live soccer matches throughout the month of July. This effort underscores the potential of space technology to enhance digital inclusion, education, and community engagement.
The project will see DStv Angola partnering to provide streaming links, with connectivity maintained through the Conecta Angola Comercial network. The broadcasts will be available at several educational institutions, including the training center in Belo Horizonte (Bi©), the University of Namibe, the Polytechnic Institute of Mandume ya Ndemufayo University (Hula), and Rainha Njinga a Mbande University (Malanje).
Conecta Angola is an initiative led by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS). It combines the capabilities of ANGOSAT-2 with internet access technologies to improve connectivity in educational institutions and communities in regions where conventional telecommunications networks are limited.
