Arab Sports Games 2023 (Swimming): Mohamed Khalil Ben Ajmia and Rami Rahmouni win gold

Tunisian swimmer Mohamed Khalil Ben Ajmia won the gold medal in the 200m backstroke at the events held on Tuesday as part of the Algiers 2023 Arab Sports Games.

Ben Ajmia clocked a time of 2’37″04 to win his first gold medal of the Games, having already won silver twice and bronze once.

Compatriot Rami Rahmouni also bagged gold in the 1500m freestyle (15’42”).

Tunisia’s Jamila Boulakbeche and Heni Mosfar settled for bronze in the 100m freestyle and 200m butterfly respectively.

Tunisian swimmers have so far won 18 medals at the Games (2 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze).
