Nayala: Around 3,000 children from 14 Child Development Centers participated in the celebration of the International Day of the African Child in Nayala province. Organized by the Toma-Yaba Cluster, this two-day event focused on critical issues related to child protection.
According to Burkina Information Agency, children's spokespersons Dala D©ogracias and Kam Si© R©gistre highlighted the historical significance of the day, dedicated in 1976 to honor the children of Soweto. They addressed issues such as child labor, early marriage, and violence, while making recommendations for improved protection and stronger educational initiatives.
On June 16, a cross-country race gathered children, pastors, and youth workers who marched through the streets of Toma, holding signs advocating for their rights. A symbolic pause was made in front of the High Commission, where Pastor Sow Mathieu acknowledged the commitment of local authorities.
At the forum's opening on June 14, 2025, all stakeholders emphasized the importance of enhancing child protection mechanisms.
