Authorities Seize Over 4,000 Liters of Fuel in Huambo Province

Huambo: The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) recently seized a total of 4,060 liters of fuel (gasoline) in the province of Huambo, intended for sale in informal markets. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to tackle illegal fuel sales in the region.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the information was made official by the spokesperson for SIC - Huambo, Chief Inspector of Investigation Azevedo Bento. He stated that the quantities were diverted by drivers of fuel transport companies, pointing to a significant breach in the supply chain.

Chief Inspector Bento affirmed that the seizure of the product and the consequent detention of 5 individuals involved were the results of public complaints. This showcases the vital role that community reports play in curbing illegal activities.

Furthermore, he noted that the agency has recovered, from April 30th to date, 3 vehicles, 7 motorcycles, 5 firearms of different calibers, 4 TVs, and more than 2 kg of marijuana. These recoveries underscore the broader scope of SIC's operations in combating various forms of illegal activities in the province.
