AYG 2025 Organizers Announce Afternoon Kick Off for Games

Luanda: The organizing committee of the 4th African Youth Games (AYG) announced that the games will commence in the afternoon, featuring the table tennis competition starting at 2 pm at the Cidadela SportCenter Complex in Luanda. Initially, the event was set to begin with athletics in the morning at the Jos© Sayovo High Performance Center in Bengo.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the first day of the games will solely include table tennis, while the other 20 sports are set to begin on the following day. The opening ceremony remains scheduled for Saturday, the 13th.

The event, under the theme "Youth in motion, Africa united," will take place concurrently in Luanda and Bengo. It will gather 2,025 athletes and over 600 technical officials, including coaches, heads of delegation, masseurs, and timekeepers from 54 countries. The games aim to foster a spirit of fraternity and unity across Africa.
