Bardo local elections: Karim Laouini promises to undertake major projects in his region

Candidate for the Bardo local council representing the constituency of Kheznadar Mohamed Karim Laouini undertook “to finalise the process of change in Tunisia and to combat the phenomenon of corruption.”

Laouini considered in a statement to TAP, that local elections are an important transition in the process of change in the country, starting from local action as the first elements of reform through the selection of candidates who listen to the concerns of the inhabitants.

He stressed that local elections are an important step in crowning the process of creating and building the New Tunisia and giving all citizens the opportunity to have effective and direct representation in legislative decisions.

His electoral programme includes a review of the high-speed train project, focusing on the reasons why work on it has stalled, as well as the creation of a sports complex.

The candidate also pledged to set up a civic enterprise to help create an economic and trade dynamic in the region.

Laouini is running with another candidate for a seat on the Kheznadar local council.

Thirty-two candidates are running in the local elections in the Bardo delegation, including 8 women and 24 men, with 2 candidates chosen by sortition.
