Candidate Ben Slama, a farmer, stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive solution to the environmental disaster caused by the nearby riverbed.

He also promised to strengthen the transport network by building communal transport lines linking Bhar Lazreg to the town of La Marsa, as well as Tunis and Ariana.

The candidate has pledged to help unemployed young people to obtain licences to drive share-taxis and intends to set up a police station in the area, with a particular focus on protecting students near the educational complex.

He has also promised to work towards the creation of a cultural centre, a sports complex and
an administrative centre with financial offices, a municipal district, a post office, a night pharmacy, a hospital and private banking agencies.
