Bie Government Reaffirms Protection of Children’s Rights

Cuito: The deputy-governor of Bie for technical and infrastructure sectors, Jos© Fernando Chatuvela, on Wednesday, reaffirmed the local government's commitment to promoting the defense and guarantee of children's rights and social protection.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Chatuvela, speaking at the Provincial Assembly of the Children's Parliament, emphasized the provincial government's ongoing efforts to implement policies focused on the well-being and social welfare of children and adolescents. There is a particular focus on improving access to education and health services.

Jos© Fernando Chatuvela stressed the importance of creating dignified conditions for children, which he believes will enable them to become responsible adults capable of leading the country towards sustainable development. He highlighted the authorities' commitment to increasing life expectancy among children through initiatives in food security, primary education, vocational training, and the prevention of domestic violence.

The official also urged the two children elected to represent the province at the national forum in Luanda to effectively communicate concerns and propose solutions to enhance the condition of minors.

During the Provincial Assembly of the Children's Parliament, delegates discussed the 11 commitments to children and the government's actions to uphold these commitments. The initiative seeks to provide a platform for listening and freedom of expression, allowing participants to voice their concerns and aspirations to society.
