Boulgou: The president of the special delegation of Bittou (PDS), Mohamed Lamine Diabat©, launched the mass treatment campaign against schistosomiasis or bilharzia at the Bittou CMA on May 5, 2025. The launch coincided with the traditional raising of the national colors, an event held on the first Monday of each month.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mohamed Lamine Diabat© presided over the national colors ceremony and initiated the mass treatment campaign in the presence of the municipality’s constituted bodies. The campaign targets 47,961 children aged between 5 and 14 years, providing them with treatment for schistosomiasis, combined with deworming using albendazole.
The bilharzia treatment campaign in Bittou is scheduled to run from May 5 to May 10, 2025.
