Luanda: The President of Brazil's Supreme Federal Court (STF), Luiz Edson Fachin, highlighted on Tuesday in Luanda the strengthening of institutional cooperation between the justice bodies of Angola and his country, during a courtesy visit to the leader of the National Assembly, Ado de Almeida. According to Angola Press News Agency, the magistrate considered it an honor to be received in the "House of the Angolan People," emphasizing the symbolic significance of the rapprochement between the institutions of the two countries. He stated that cooperation is already underway between the STF, the Constitutional Court of Angola (TC), and the Supreme Court (TS), encompassing the exchange of experiences and knowledge. He mentioned that the prospects for collaboration include the creation of a Center for Constitutional Studies, the holding of training courses for magistrates and judicial officials, as well as the strengthening of relations between Angolan and Brazilian universities. During the meeting at the Nation al Assembly, the parties also discussed the historical and institutional ties that unite Angola and Brazil. The president of the Supreme Federal Court emphasized that, for Brazilians, visiting Angola represents a recognition of the historical roots that contributed to the formation of their society. "When we came here, we asked history for permission to enter, because it is in this land, and in Africa, that the roots of a plural society like Brazil are found," he said. Finally, he expressed gratitude for the reception received and reiterated his commitment to continue deepening cooperation between the two countries, promoting a relationship of mutual learning and benefit. After the audience, accompanied by the speaker of the National Assembly, Ado de Almeida, he visited the plenary hall and the gallery of the first speakers of the Angolan Parliament. The President of the Brazilian Supreme Court has been on a working visit since Monday to strengthen institutional cooperation with the Constitutional Court (T C).
