CAXITO: The provincial director of the National Statistics Institute (INE), João Baptista, announced in Caxito that the census process in the communes of Caxito, Barra do Dande, and Úcua, located in the Dande municipality of Bengo province, is expected to conclude within eight days. According to Angola Press News Agency, the coordinator of the provincial technical group for the census in Bengo explained that the process has already been finalized in five out of the six municipalities in the Bengo province. These include Ambriz, Bula Atumba, Dembos, Nambuangongo, and Pango Aluquém. João Baptista further mentioned that census-takers are currently engaged in tracing work in the municipalities where the process has been completed. This is to address any possible shortcomings that might have occurred during the initial census activities. In Bengo, there are 20 vehicles designated for the task, supporting 1,654 personnel, including census enumerators and supervisors. These individuals are working across 1,207 census sections in the province's six municipalities. This census marks the second general census in the country within a decade, following the 2014 Census, which tallied over 25 million inhabitants. This initiative is organized by the Angolan government through INE. Bengo province comprises six municipalities, namely Dande, Ambriz, Nambuangongo, Dembos, Bula Atumba, and Pango Aluquém, and encompasses 23 communes.
