Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Assesses Troop Readiness in Lunda Norte

Lunda Norte: The Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Altino dos Santos, has been in the Lunda Norte province since early Wednesday morning to assess the readiness and combat preparedness of the troops, as well as the organization and functioning of units in the northeast military region.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the head of the General Staff's main Patriotic Education Directorate, Ant³nio Fernandes, stated that the visit by the Chief of Staff aims to ensure the FAA's capability to fulfill its missions, including national defense and addressing threats. Fernandes highlighted the situation in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, which requires vigilance, and mentioned that measures have been implemented to ensure the protection of Angola's borders and sovereignty. The visit is intended to evaluate the combat readiness of the soldiers.

During his stay in Lunda Norte, Altino dos Santos is expected to visit various infrastructures and engage with the forces. The province is home to the 52nd Infantry Brigade of the Angolan Armed Forces, which is commanded by Colonel Manuel dos Anjos.

Prior to this visit, the Chief of Staff assessed troop readiness in Lunda-Sul with similar objectives. Together, Lunda-Norte and Lunda-Sul form the northeast military region. The assessment process within the Angolan Armed Forces involves evaluating a military unit's ability to fulfill its missions and responsibilities, focusing on personnel preparation, equipment status, training, and infrastructure conditions.
