Chinese Delegation in charge of building new Bizerte bridge visits ‘les Ciments de Bizerte’ plant
anadmin BIZERTE: A delegation from the Chinese company «Sichuan Road and Bridge Group,» which is in charge of building the main section of the new Bizerte Bridge, Thursday, made a visit to the Bizerte cement plant «les Ciments of Bizerte.»
The visit focused on the readiness of the Bizerte cement plant in supplying all the construction materials necessary for the construction of the bridge, in accordance with the required technical standards.
CEO of the plant “les Ciments de Bizerte”, Mohamed Laabidi, told TAP that the Chinese delegation toured the plant’s various production units, adding that the two Tunisian and Chinese parties agreed on the need to work jointly during the project’s technical phase.
In addition to their visit to the Tunisian Steel Company El Fouladh, last April, Chinese officials had meetings with the local governor, local officials and those of the Tunisian company in charge of carrying out the second and third section of the project.
The Head of State, Kais Saied, laid, on July 25, 2022, the c
ornerstone of the new Bizerte bridge project, with an estimated value of TND 750 million.
The project is being deployed over 3 phases, with a view to creating a structure more than 9 kilometers long, with a second phase which is 2.1 km long at the level of the Bizerte canal.
