ENDIAMA Launches Agribusiness Project in Lunda-Norte

Lunda-norte: The CEO of the Angolan National Diamond Company (ENDIAMA E.P), Ganga Jºnior, announced the implementation of an agribusiness project in Cuilo, aimed at the production and transformation of agricultural products in the region.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative is part of ENDIAMA's social responsibilities and focuses on the production and industrial transformation of cereals such as rice, soy, corn, and sorghum. Currently, over a thousand hectares of land are being prepared for the 2025/26 agricultural season, set to begin this October. The project aims to establish Lunda-Norte Province as a major agricultural hub, supplying the market with processed and industrialized foods.

Ganga Jºnior emphasized the collaboration with the local government and the structuring of a technical unit to oversee industrial and commercial agriculture in the area. ENDIAMA also plans to assist farmers in becoming entrepreneurs within the sector. The project will involve all municipalities along National Highway 225, including Cuilo, L³vua, Caungula, and Cuango. In addition to production, the company is investing in training by financing the construction of an Agricultural Secondary School in L³vua, which will feature 16 classrooms.

For the 2025/26 agricultural season, Lunda Norte authorities anticipate a production of approximately 2.7 million tons of various products, surpassing the more than 2.5 million tons produced in the current season. To support this, 350,561 hectares of land have been designated for nearly 238,000 farming families, 426 associations, one farm, and 702 agricultural cooperatives.
