Equatorial Guinea President Commences Working Visit to Angola

LUANDA: The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, arrived in Luanda on Monday afternoon for a 48-hour working visit at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, Joo Louren§o. Upon arrival, he was welcomed at the Presidential Complex of the "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by Angola's Minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Ant³nio.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Angola and Equatorial Guinea, both major oil producers in the Gulf of Guinea region, have nurtured robust political, diplomatic, and cultural relations for several years. The cooperation between these countries primarily focuses on economic, energy, and security matters, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening ties.

Both nations are members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), which further underscores their shared linguistic and cultural heritage. The authorities in Angola and Equatorial Guinea have been working towards diversifying their cooperation by identifying common interests that promise mutual benefits, aiming to enhance their partnership's scope and impact.
