CABINDA: The reverend of the Evangelical Church of Angola (IEA), Luís Nguimbi, expressed his disapproval on Sunday, in the city of Cabinda, regarding the increasing incidents of vandalization of public property across the nation. He called upon the relevant authorities to undertake effective measures to counter this growing concern.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Luís Nguimbi, during his two-day pastoral visit to Cabinda, urged both religious and traditional leaders to unite with similar organizations to tackle this issue. He emphasized the necessity for collective action against the destruction of public assets provided by the government. “It is deplorable that we witness every day the destruction of public property that the Executive makes available to us. We must roll up our sleeves to combat the vandalization of property,” Nguimbi remarked.
The reverend pointed out that these acts of vandalism are often carried out by individuals who are well-known within their communities. However, these indivi
duals frequently go unreported by local residents’ committees. To address this, Nguimbi called for increased cooperation between the public and authorities, urging citizens to report those he referred to as “enemies of development.”
Nguimbi stressed that actions hindering the country’s economic and social progress should be unequivocally condemned, and those responsible must face legal consequences.
