FIFA and FBF Collaborate to Enhance Youth Football Development

Casablanca: In a strategic meeting held in Casablanca, Morocco, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) expressed its commitment to supporting the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) in advancing youth football. This discussion was in light of the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), aiming to bolster the development of young talent within Burkina Faso’s football framework, as announced by the FBF on Sunday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the vice-president of the FBF youth football committee, Papy Dagba, and national technical director, Pascal Yougbar©, engaged in talks with FIFA’s director of development, Ars¨ne Wenger, and his team. The meeting was centered around two primary objectives: preparing the U17 Stallions for the World Cup in Qatar and revitalizing the Talent Development System (TDS) project. This project, with secured funding, would enable the FBF to establish training grounds specifically for youth.

The FBF conveyed that Ars¨ne Wenger commended the federation’s efforts and organizational structure. He also reiterated FIFA’s dedication to assisting the FBF in its structural initiatives, reinforcing the cooperation between the two organizations to foster youth football growth.
