Luanda: The 5th and penultimate day of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA2026 Edition) was marked by the customary "Golden Lions Gala", an annual ceremony aimed at distinguishing and rewarding the companies, institutions, and services that stood out the most at Angola's largest business hub. During the gala, which took place at a hotel unit in Luanda, the organizers awarded the "Golden Lion" grand prize to Sonangol, which also received a diploma.
According to Angola Press News Agency, other companies were also distinguished in various categories, such as "Best participation of public entities and institutions", "Brand representation and identity", "Best participation in public services and public utility", "Best participation in trade and services", "Best participation in graphic industry, paper packaging", "Best participation in food and beverages", "Best participation in civil construction and public works", and "Best participation in furniture and decorations". The gala served to reward the exhibitors with the best performance and socioeconomic contribution presented during the 41st Edition of the Luanda International Fair, which is taking place in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), in the province of Icolo and Bengo.
Parallel to the distinctions, the penultimate day of the expo was also marked by the guided tour of the former Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, who toured several stands and interacted with exhibitors. During the observation, Bornito de Sousa interacted with exhibitors from Cimangola, the People's Republic of China, Endiama, the Republic of Ghana, the Angola Central Bank (BNA), Sonangol, among others. On the occasion, the also academic highlighted the evolution noted in the present Edition and the increase in international participation.
Another person who marked his presence on Saturday was the Minister of Tourism, M¡rcio Daniel, who praised the event's level of organization. The event, which asserts itself as the country's largest business showcase, also experienced moments of great intensity, with conferences that addressed various themes around the economy and national production, as well as the signing of business agreements and partnerships between exhibitors.
With more than four decades of history, the 2026 Luanda International Fair brings together 2,348 companies, both national and international, in the current Edition, under the motto "Produce and innovate locally, succeed globally".
