Finance Minister Highlights Angola’s Economic Reforms in London

Luanda: Angola's Finance minister Vera Daves de Sousa highlighted on Tuesday in London, the country's economic reforms, fiscal consolidation, and exchange rate strategy. Speaking at the opening of the Angola-UK Business and Investment Forum in London, which takes place from Sept 8 to 9, the minister also addressed the country's macroeconomic prospects, focusing on medium-term debt management, the diversification of financing sources, and risk mitigation.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister detailed the schedule for Angola's Privatization Program (PROPRIV) alongside plans to expand the domestic capital market. The two-day forum included bilateral talks with senior executives from global financial institutions to explore infrastructure cooperation and alternative financing channels.

In parallel meetings, officials from the Angolan Debt and Stock Exchange (BODIVA) and the Capital Markets Commission (CMC) met with representatives of the London Stock Exchange Group to discuss technical capacity building and future market operations. The Angolan delegation in London includes senior figures from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning, the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), as well as representatives from commercial banks and financial institutions.
