Luanda: At least four hectares of vegetation were consumed by a small fire that started on Tuesday near the warehouses, workshop, and administrative building of the Capanda Hydroelectric Project in the municipality of Pungo A Ndongo. The rapid intervention of the Capanda Second-Echelon Fire Station prevented the fire from spreading, Civil Protection and Fire Service spokesperson Júlia da Conceiço told ANGOP on Wednesday. According to Angola Press News Agency, the fire, allegedly set by unidentified individuals, did not cause material or human damage. The swift actions of the local fire station were crucial in containing the fire, preventing potential threats to infrastructure and safety.
