Ambriz:An artisanal fishing boat capsized Tuesday off the coast of Ambriz in Bengo province, leading to one death, two missing individuals, and one injured, as reported by local authorities.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the incident occurred when the vessel was caught off guard by heavy sea waves. Four fishermen were aboard when the boat overturned. One fisherman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the search and rescue operations for the two missing fishermen are still underway.
The only survivor, Cris Eduardo, highlighted the importance of following safety protocols to avoid maritime accidents. Additionally, the boat owner, Domingos da Silva Joaquim, advised local captains and fishermen to take heed of adverse weather and wave conditions before venturing out to sea.
