Harare: The Angolan Under-17 football team defeated Lesotho 5-0 today in the second round of Group C of the COSAFA Cup, taking place in Harare, Zimbabwe. Paulo Luvumbo scored a hat trick, securing a place in the semifinals of the competition. According to Angola Press News Agency, after Friday's 5-0 thrashing of Botswana, the Angolans demonstrated their superiority in the first half, already leading 3-0. The goals of the match were scored by Eliseu Francisco (4), Constantino Chianica (20), and Paulo Luvumbo (29, 53, 90). Angola plays again on Monday at 3 p.m. against Mauritius. The top three teams in the COSAFA Cup will qualify for the 2026 African Under-17 Nations Championship in Zimbabwe.
