Luanda: The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) are aligned in placing Angola among the best football teams internationally, according to the minister Rui Falco. According to Angola Press News Agency, the official was speaking on Monday afternoon, at the end of an audience granted to the new national football coach, the Senegalese Aliou Cissé, with whom he hopes Angola can present a strong playing style to compete with teams on the international stage. He stated that there are expectations, and that they are working with the Federation to achieve the objectives, which include qualifying for the 2030 World Cup. "We have the image of other sports in the country and we want to make our football grow in the continental ranking," he emphasized, considering it a great satisfaction to have Aliou Cissé as coach of the "Palancas Negras," after being known as an athlete. According to Rui Falco, during the meeting, the ministry's thoughts and objectives were conveyed to the selector , as well as the willingness to help the technician in everything within MINJUD's reach, to develop smooth work. He reiterated that the goal is the next World Cup, in 2030, to be held simultaneously in Spain, Morocco and Portugal, and to achieve this, the FAF needs the support of the Angolan State. 'We have an extremely fruitful relationship with the federation and we work together practically every day, naturally focused on the objectives we have outlined,' he underscored. Next September marks the start of the qualifying campaign for the African Cup of Nations (CAN'2027) to be held in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. In their last participation in CAN'2025, in January of this year, the Palancas Negras were eliminated in the group stage, in Morocco.
