Futsal Team Announced for AFCON Qualifiers

Luanda: The national futsal coach Franklin Inacio announced on Tuesday the selection of 20 athletes for the team that will compete in this year's African Futsal Championship qualifiers. The national team is exempt from the first phase in January and will face the winner of the match between Cameroon and South Sudan in the second qualifying phase scheduled for February 3 and 4. According to Angola Press News Agency, the team will commence training on January 19 and will participate in two friendly matches as part of their preparation. The African Futsal Championship is set to take place in April in Morocco. The coach has set an objective to match or surpass the team's second-place finish from the previous edition, expressing confidence in the selected athletes, who he describes as the best currently available in the country. The first leg of Angola's qualifying match will occur at the opponent's venue on February 3 or 4, with the second leg taking place in Angola on February 7 or 8. The following players hav e been called up for the national team: Goalkeepers: Micael Domingos (JCY FC), Denilson Inácio (RNT), and Wilson Agostinho (CSE). Defenders: António Cassimo (RNT), Francisco Gabriel (CSE), Osvaldo de Carvalho (SCDR Maculusso), Telmo de Sousa (Elétrico FC of Portugal), and Sévio Marcelo (ADCR Caxinas of Portugal). Wingers: Adérito Santos (JCY FC), Kliverth Neto, Braulio Fontoura, Gaspar Celestino (RNT), Tito Manuel, Anicleni Manuel (SCDR Maculusso), Joo Cambangula (FC Ferreira Zêzere of Portugal), Anderson Canjamba (FC Leões Porto Salvo of Portugal), and Magno Gomes (FC Nun'Alvares of Portugal).
