BENGO: A social project called ‘As conscientes de Angola’, which aims to support young girls, was launched on Tuesday in Icolo e Bengo municipality, northern Bengo province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the project’s coordinator, Maria António Cunha, stated that the initiative is designed to bring girls together in four groups within the municipalities of Icolo e Bengo and Quiçama. The goal is to provide training in various areas to facilitate their integration into society. Cunha emphasized the importance of valuing the female workforce, noting its significant numbers and the crucial role it plays in achieving societal development.
‘For this reason, both at school and at home, women must take an active part in daily tasks,’ Cunha remarked, highlighting the necessity of women’s involvement in everyday activities.
Sebastiana Martins Neto, president of the Association of Actors Cahve do Saber Angola, mentioned that the project is funded by the Canadian consulate. It aims to assist girls, young peo
ple, and women, particularly in overcoming challenges related to access to education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.
