Global Labour Market Conference: social affairs minister attends roundtable meeting


Social Affairs Minister Malek Ezzahi Wednesday attended in Riyadh works of a ministerial roundtable meeting on the sidelines of the Global Labour Market Conference (December 13-14) at King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre.

The meeting, chaired by Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, focused on opportunities and changes in the labour market and ways to meet challenges. It was attended by ministers and officials from 24 countries, reads a ministry press release.

Participants placed emphasis on the importance of international solidarity, cooperation and the exchange of experiences to cope with rapid and unprededented advanced technology-induced changes and geopolitical challenges on the global labour market.

Several items are on the agenda of the international conference attended by 6,000 participants from 40 countries, several ministers, government officials and several officials of international and labour organisations.

The main trends in the labo
ur market, the development of laws and labour force policies and programmes will be debated.

The impact of AI and new technologies on the global labour market and labour force and the fallout from demographic changes, the role of corporate social responsability and working conditions are pivotal issues.
