Luanda: President Joo Lourenço is attending this Saturday morning, in Luanda's 11 de Novembro Stadium, the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service organised by religious denominations to salute the 50th anniversary of Angola's National Independence, to be marked on 11 November. The Head of State is attending the mentioned religious service in the company of his wife, First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço. According to Angola Press News Agency, the thanksgiving service is also being attended by the Vice President, Esperança da Costa, and other government officials, as well as by members of the National Assembly, judicial magistrates, prosecutors, political leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of various religious denominations. Happening under the motto 'Angola, 50 Years of National Independence, Unity, Peace and Prosperity,' this ecumenical service serves as a moment for reflection and gratitude for the conquests of the Angolan Nation since 1975. The celebrations of the country's fiftieth independe nce anniversary are taking place countrywide with various activities with political, cultural and sportive character. The main act of commemoration is set for Tuesday, November 11, in Republic Square, Luanda, an event that is to be chaired by President Joo Lourenço.
