Luanda: President Joo Lourenço is participating on this Thursday (11) morning in the funeral ceremonies for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP, Manuel Domingos Augusto, who died on the 5th of the current month in Luanda, due to illness. According to Angola Press News Agency, the ceremonies are taking place at the Army General Staff Headquarters (former RI-20), where family members, members of the Executive, MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps, ecclesiastical entities, former combatants, and citizens in general are paying their last respects to the deceased. The program includes a religious celebration, the reading of condolence messages from different institutions, and the eulogy in memory of Manuel Domingos Augusto. After the official tribute, the urn will be taken to the Alto das Cruzes Cemetery, where the funeral takes place. Manuel Domingos Augusto held several important positions in the service of the Angolan State, most notably as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Ma ss Media, Secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau for International Affairs, and Angolan Ambassador to various countries. Recognized for his diplomatic and political career, the former government official left an important legacy in strengthening Angola's foreign relations and asserting the country on regional and international levels.
