Luanda: From January to August 2025, Angolan companies in the oil sector supply chain accounted for around 12 percent of registered contracts, said the Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, on Thursday. He stated that in 2022, these companies represented approximately 2 percent of the value of contracts signed under the Exclusive Regime, increasing to 4 percent in 2025.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister added that these figures do not accurately reflect the extent of national companies' participation in the industry, as they also operate under the Preferential Competition Regime. Given the complexity of the contracts approved in the last quarter of 2025, he estimated that their participation was around 8%.
The value awarded to these companies has increased by around 104% in absolute terms, rising from approximately 358 million US dollars in 2022 to around 733 million US dollars in 2025. This growth demonstrates that Angolan companies are progressively consolidating their technical, organizational, and financial capabilities, enabling them to participate in more demanding segments of the oil industry.
Diamantino de Azevedo further stated that over 3,200 national companies are currently registered with the ANPG, with around 1,400 having obtained certification to provide goods and services to the oil industry. The minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening policies that promote local content through specialized training and the development of financial instruments suited to the needs of companies in the sector.
