The International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), has launched a sensitization programme for the Civilian Security Coordination Course (CISEC) in Mandera County.
The programme is designed to bring together a diverse group of participants from various sectors, to enhance peace and security in the region.
The CISEC programme includes stakeholders such as security agencies, local community elders, religious leaders, human rights defenders, women, youth, people with disabilities, the business community, and peace committees.
This wide-ranging representation, highlights the necessity of a ‘Whole of Society’ approach to peace and security, emphasizing the shared responsibility of civilians, police, and the military in fostering community-level stability.
Major Saitoti Francis, the Coordinator of the CISEC programme, stressed the importance of these engagements in building a more secure and united country.

o address challenges and create a better future for our nation,’ he remarked.
Mandera County Commissioner, Henry Ochako, expressed strong support for the programme, urging community leaders and security sectors, to continue prioritizing peace.
He assured that the government is committed to supporting any individuals or organizations working towards maintaining peace in the County.
The sensitization programme marks a significant step in reinforcing the collaboration between various sectors, with the ultimate goal of ensuring lasting peace and security in Mandera.
