JOBE Angola Achieves Successful Results in Matala Communities

Matala: The services provided by cooperatives funded by the Young Opportunities for Good Jobs Program (JOBE) are generating a "positive impact" on the lives of residents of Matala, in Angolan southern province of Hula, with the creation of new jobs, according to authorities.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Ant³nio da Silva, the project's focal point in Matala, highlighted a protocol between the local administration and the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP). This protocol serves as a monitoring tool to ensure that the cooperatives benefiting from the program are integrated into public interest actions.

Da Silva emphasized that cooperatives are crucial for the socio-professional integration of youth, allowing them to apply the knowledge acquired during training. This initiative not only aids in solving community challenges but also receives support from the Local Administration.

He cited the "Mentes Brilhantes" Land Reserve Cooperative as a success story. Coordinated by young Cl¡udio Jos©, this cooperative has been actively involved in surveying and organizing land reserves in the municipality just three months after its inception.

Another notable achievement is the "Matala Verde com Vida" Environmental Gardening Cooperative, which has secured numerous service contracts for creating, maintaining, and remodeling gardens in residential and other spaces within the municipality.

JOBE Angola, managed by INEFOP, is an initiative by the Angolan Government targeting the employability and professional training of young people. The program provides self-employment kits, internships, and micro-credit, and is present in numerous provinces to foster cooperatives and promote entrepreneurship.

The project strives to combat youth unemployment by facilitating job market access or self-employment opportunities, along with microcredit to boost small businesses. It also offers professional internships and technical training in fields like maintenance, gardening, waste management, and services.

Since its expansion across the country's provinces, JOBE Angola has benefited tens of thousands of young individuals nationwide, leading to the creation of numerous youth cooperatives and stimulating the local economy.
