Joo Lourenço Leaves for Lunda-Sul Province After Inaugurating University Campus in Lunda-Norte

Dundo: President Joo Lourenço has left the city of Dundo, in the north-eastern Province of Lunda-Norte, and is heading to Saurimo City, the capital of the neighbouring Lunda-Sul Province, after a 24-hour working visit in the former. During his stay in Lunda-Norte, the Head of State inaugurated the Lueji A'nkonde University Campus, located in the Mussungue area, which has recently been elevated to the status of a municipality within the new politico-administrative division. According to Angola Press News Agency, the newly inaugurated campus was budgeted at over US$60 million and includes facilities such as a rectory building, 87 classrooms, 2 mock trial rooms, student and faculty residences, libraries, an auditorium, and both administrative and leisure areas. The infrastructure is designed to accommodate more than 8,000 students annually, signifying a significant boost to higher education in the region. While in Lunda-Norte, the Angolan statesman held meetings with the local government to discuss the overall situation in this territorial unit in depth. These discussions aimed to address local challenges and explore potential developments within the province. In his onward journey to Lunda-Sul, President Lourenço is set to inaugurate a polytechnic institute in Muangueji. Like Mussungue, Muangueji has also been recently elevated to the status of a municipality within the new political-administrative division. This new institute is expected to mirror the characteristics of the Lueji A'nkonde University Campus, further expanding educational opportunities in the region.
