Kinshasa Hosts 3rd Angola-DRC Economic Forum

Kinshasa: The 3rd edition of the Angola-Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Economic Forum is being held from April 1 to 2 in Kinshasa, with the theme 'Sub-Regional Integration and Development of Cross-Border Trade'.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan delegation, led by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jos© de Lima Massano, traveled to Kinshasa on Tuesday night. This meeting is positioned as a strategic platform for economic and business dialogue, focusing on deepening sub-regional integration, developing cross-border trade, and promoting joint investments between Angola and the DRC.

The Forum is under the high sponsorship of Presidents Joo Louren§o and F©lix Tshisekedi Tshilombo, highlighting its importance in strengthening bilateral cooperation. This comes in light of the economic potential of border areas and the necessity to enhance logistics and the business environment.

Additionally, the Forum aims to solidify Angola and DRC's roles as connecting hubs between Southern Africa and Central Africa. It seeks to encourage private investment and establish sustainable partnerships. The agenda features institutional sessions, thematic panels, and sectoral meetings covering energy, industry, transport, logistics, fishing, and finance. Business meetings between entrepreneurs from both nations are expected to yield concrete outcomes in strengthening institutional dialogue, signing business agreements, and boosting formal cross-border trade, alongside showcasing products and services.

It is noteworthy that during the 2nd Economic Forum held in Luanda in 2023, Angola and the DRC reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships, facilitating trade, and promoting joint investments for mutual and sustainable growth.
