Law expert Slim Laghmani to present Tunisia’s oral arguments before ICJ

International law expert Slim Laghmani will present Tunisia’s oral arguments in favour of the Palestinian cause at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on February 23, on instructions from President Kais Saied.

This is part of the Court’s Advisory Opinion, requested by the United Nations’ General Assembly under its decision A/RES/77/247, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tunisia’s arguments will focus on the legal consequences of the ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.

The same source said this case reflects Tunisia’s commitment to supporting the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to have an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

Tunisia will also use this opportunity to support international efforts to end the colonisation and Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people.
