Leisure Tourism in Angola Experiences 20% Growth in 2025

Luanda: Angola received 52,072 leisure tourists in 2025, compared to 43,393 the previous year, representing a 20% growth, the minister of tourism Márcio Daniel, announced Friday in Luanda. According to Angola Press News Agency, this growth is the result of communication efforts promoting Angola as a destination, which has contributed to changing the profile of tourists visiting the country. In an interview at the 21st edition of Café CIPRA, rounds of discussions held by the Press Centre of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola (CIPRA), themed "Promoting Tourism in Angola: Challenges and Opportunities," the minister guaranteed the continuation of this trend in 2026 and 2027. He recalled that the "Visit Angola" brand reached an average of over one million people worldwide, resulting from campaigns recently conducted at industry fairs in countries such as Germany and Spain. "With this, Angola went from an unknown destination to an emerging one," he said. He also spoke of the continued commitment to intra- African tourism, with the visa exemption for more countries on the continent currently underway. In addition to the Minister of Tourism, the 21st edition of Café CIPRA was attended by the minister of Transport, Ricardo D'Abreu, and the minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos Alberto Santos.
