Local elections: sixteen contesting candidates in El Omrane, Tunis II

Sixteen candidates are contesting local council seats in the constituency of El Omrane, including one with disabilities selected by sortition.

The number of voters in this electoral district stands by late November at 36,943; the updating process is running until December 8.

El Omrane extends over an area of 77 km2, that is 66 % of the total area of the governorate of Tunis, with a population of 41, 822. The delegation is made up of 6 imadas.

The campaign for local elections is running till December 22. Silence day is set for December 23.

Tunisians will head to polls on December 24 to elect 2,434 members of local councils in 2,155 districts. 279 local councils will be set up.
