The candidate for the Tozeur local council, Ali Triki of the Ras Edhraa Helba constituency, on Sunday, launched his campaign with a tour of the Imada area, where he met residents and presented his manifesto. The latter included a section on the overall development of the area to provide it with various essential services.
In a statement to TAP, the candidate said he would work through the local council to rebuild the culture centre that was destroyed in 2012, as well as creating a children’s club, a third primary school in view of the area’s urban expansion, a service unit and a neighbourhood sports court.
In terms of the environment, Triki is proposing to rehabilitate the Tozeur sewage treatment plant, which is located close to this Imada and is a source of bad odours and insect breeding grounds, in order to limit air pollution and strengthen the region’s infrastructure.
He is also proposing to upgrade several sections of the railway line and the installation of pedestrian crossings to allow residents to
cross safely.
