Local elections-Tunis II: Candidate of ‘Carthage-Byrsa’, Fethi Laabidi, promises to promote Carthage archaeological heritage

The candidate for the electoral district “Carthage-Byrsa”, reporting to the local council of “Carthage” (Tunis II), Fathi Laabidi, promised to promote the archaeological heritage of the suburbs of Carthage.

Speaking to TAP, on Monday, the 56-year old candidate underlined that his electoral programme, featuring the slogan “Unity, Solidarity, Cooperation”, is based on the valorization of archaeological sites.

He also promised to support women artisans and provide them with spaces so that they can exhibit their products to the general public.

He also pledged to support the Carthage Sports Association, attract sponsors, develop green spaces and transform them into urban parks, in addition to creating a municipal market.

During his electoral campaign, the candidate made field visits to several working-class neighborhoods to raise voters’ awareness of the importance of going to the polls.
